What opportunities are provided in HFR?
You can choose to work on projects spanning our three divisions: LAND, SEA or AIR.
Each division is composed of sub teams spanning the range of material taught in university, and more.
Land
The largest and oldest team in HFR. Joining this team puts you on the car we race at the Shell Eco-Marathon: chassis, powertrain, aero and telemetry.
Sea
The team that raced Vital Spark at Monaco, now building HFR's own Energy Class boat for the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.
Air
Design and build the next generation of aviation transport: our hydrogen-powered aero concept, alongside the UofG Aeronautics Society.
What is the team like?
Our engineering community recruits over 100 engineers from all backgrounds. We take pride in our society's diversity.

What about volunteering?
HFR has been working with STEM Ambassadors ever since its inception. We provide members with the opportunity to volunteer and give back to the next generation.

Why join HFR?
We provide an experience unlike any other in UofG. We give members the opportunity to learn and gain experience in a fun and engaging way.
Who do we look for?
Most of our members joined with zero engineering projects behind them. We don't expect experience. We expect curiosity, reliability and enthusiasm.
Why this society? You could build a Formula 1 car, a rocket, a satellite or prosthetics. We want to know why hydrogen racing.
